Salary: $875.00 per month
Opening Date: June 04 2025

GENERAL PURPOSE
Reports to a predetermined dangerous location andhelps children cross the roadway in the safest possible manner.

Works under the general supervision of aSergeant.

essential functions
Reviews the area for dangerous circumstances that arenot normal.
Assists children and pedestrians in crossing thestreet safely.
Turns pedestrian traffic lights on and off. Makes sure the lights are functioning as theyshould be.
Be on location to function as the crossing guard onehour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon.
Regular and predictable attendance
Must report allproblems and potential problems to supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Educationand Experience:
A. Graduation from high school or equivalentGED.
B. Sufficient experience to demonstrate aworking knowledge of essential functions.
2. KnowledgeSkills & Abilities:
Some knowledge ofpedestrian road safety.
Ability tocommunicate effectively with pedestrians and the driving public. Ability to use good judgment in determiningwhen it is safe to cross the road. Ableto work well with children.
3. Special Qualifications
21 years of age or older is desirable.
4. Work Environment:
Tasks require a variety of physicalactivities periodically involving muscular strain related to walking standingstooping sitting pulling and reaching. Essential functions require talking hearing and seeing. Common eyehand finger dexterity required to perform essential functions. Daily exposure to weather extremes andseasonal conditions. Must be willing towork in all weather conditions during school sessions.

Thisposition is an at-will position and is exempt from the protections of Utah Code. As such the School CrossingGuard may be terminated with or without cause and shall not be entitled to dueprocess appeal authority as set forth in Utah Code.
TheSchool Crossing Guard position is a non-exempt position under the Fair LaborStandards Act.
