Job Description

Salary range is $34.13/hour to $74.51/hour with a midpoint of $54.33/hour. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint however we may go slightly higher based on experience internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under general direction supervises assigns and coordinates the daily maintenance functions and activities; ensures adherence to safety rules and procedures; resolves maintenance issues; investigates accidents; inspects systems equipment; trains and/or re-certifies staff; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the more technical and complex maintenance tasks on the Tacoma Link System.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional position-specific duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Associates degree in the Electrical/Electronic Systems Field; Four years of experience in electrical maintenance/electrical systems troubleshooting and design; Two years of leadership budgetary planning and workforce management experience preferably in the light rail maintenance field; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Demands/Requirements:

This position is considered safety sensitive. It requires a DOT physical that meets standard to qualify for at least a one-year certification under 49 CFR 391.4 and recertification as needed and a negative drug test. Following is a description of the circumstances for testing as required by Federal regulations 49 CFR Part 655: random post-accident reasonable suspicion return to duty and follow-up drug and alcohol testing in compliance with Federal Transit Authority DOT alcohol and controlled substances testing program protocols.
