Your role and responsibilities

We need you and your leadership skills to deliver the following key activities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for commissioning community-based services including home care micro-enterprises and community support initiatives.
  • Ensure robust and proportionate contract management practices for services commissioned by Adult Social Care (ASC) with a clear focus on risk management.
  • Oversee the Brokerage Team ensuring the service remains efficient responsive and aligned with operational needs.
  • Manage allocated budgets effectively and take accountability for achieving identified savings targets.

You will need:

  • Masters degree (or equivalent experience) in health social care contracting or business.
  • Deep knowledge of commissioning and contract management in local government/NHS.
  • Strong leadership negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience managing budgets teams and complex service redesigns.
  • A commitment to equality innovation and continuous improvement.

The team

You will support the Senior Manager to lead a team of motivated people (around 20) that ensure care and support providers are delivering high quality services.

We have an ambitious vision for the future and need our services to change and innovate. You will be at the forefront of shaping our care market to find ways to deliver a more personalised offer and connect people into their community. Our services matter to people and you will be at the heart of making sure that we get it right and outcomes for people are improved.

The team has embraced hybrid working and as a member of the leadership team you should plan to be in the office 3 days a week. To promote team interaction our office days are usually Mondays and Wednesdays.
