About the Role
Based in BYDs Melbourne office in Mulgrave this role will support our BYD Automotive Engineering Research Institute Team. On offer is a Product Test Engineer position and your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to:
- Design plan and execute tests on vehicle systems components and complete vehicles.
- Collaborate closely with R&D Engineering teams to ensure compliance with safety performance and regulatory standards.
- Set up vehicles with scan tools data loggers and other test equipment for a variety of vehicle tests.
- Analyze data and prepare detailed test reports; communicate findings clearly to engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Identify and drive improvements in testing methodologies tools and workflows.
- Stay informed of the latest advancements in automotive technologies and testing best practices.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Automotive Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an automotive testing role or similar position.
- Proficient in the use of scan tools (VDS Canbox) data loggers and diagnostic/testing equipment in an automotive environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.
Other Requirement:
- Willingness to work onsite 5 days a week and travel domestically and internationally as needed.
