Job Description

Job Title: Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Location: Remote (South Africa preferred)
Employment Type: Full-time Contractor


About the Role:

A fast-growing U.S.-based startup in the AI infrastructure and data center space is seeking a mission-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support and scale its outreach efforts. This position plays a critical role in identifying and contacting utility providers across the U.S. to gather key power availability data that directly impacts expansion strategy.

This is a remote role ideal for someone based in South Africa looking to work with an innovative and fast-paced team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Make outbound calls to U.S.-based utility companies to gather information on power availability

  • Build and maintain a structured database of contacts interactions and data collected

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with gatekeepers and utility representatives

  • Follow up regularly to close information loops and maintain a healthy outreach pipeline

  • Collaborate closely with the founder and other internal stakeholders to refine outreach strategies

  • Manage and track all interactions using a CRM system (currently basic with future improvements expected)


Qualifications:

  • Excellent spoken and written English with minimal accent

  • Confident and clear communicator over the phone

  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work through ambiguity

  • Previous experience in outbound sales lead generation or customer outreach preferred

  • Highly organized detail-oriented and persistent in following up

  • Self-starter with a proactive figure it out mindset


Nice to Have:

  • Experience using tools like SalesMessage or similar platforms for U.S. phone number allocation

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and remote sales workflows

  • Prior experience working with North American markets
