Job Description
Client: State of New York
Location: Albany NY
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: $65 to $70
Experience Required: 12 years (with 3-4 years as a GCP Cloud Architect.)
Please No Data Engineer profiles only Cloud Architect.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and design scalable secure and cost-effective cloud solutions leveraging GCP IaaS services and products.
Lead on-premise/other cloud to GCP migration using tools like Velostrata Sureline or Cloud Endure.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) DevOps practices and automation for cloud deployments.
Provide technology consultation define project scope and ensure best-fit architectural solutions.
Develop high-level and low-level design documents ensuring alignment with business requirements.
Drive service improvement initiatives performance tuning and optimization of cloud environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
Stay updated with the latest GCP services trends and best practices to drive innovation.
Technical Skills Required:
GCP Services Expertise: Compute (GCE GKE GAE) Storage (GCS) Networking (VPC Cloud CDN) Databases (Cloud SQL) IAM StackDriver.
Big Data & ML (Good to Have): BigQuery BigTable Dataproc Dataflow ML APIs.
GCP Certifications Preferred
Associate Cloud Engineer / Professional Cloud Architect / Professional Cloud Developer.
Cloud Migration: Experience with migration tools (Velostrata Cloud Endure etc.).
Infrastructure Automation: Terraform Deployment Manager Ansible.
DevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins GitLab CI Cloud Build.
Scripting & CLI Tools: gcloud gsutil kubectl Python/Shell scripting.
Experience & Qualifications:
12 years in IT infrastructure with 3-4 years as a GCP Cloud Architect.
Strong knowledge of SDLC architectural design patterns and cloud security best practices.
Hands-on experience in designing implementing and optimizing cloud solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Desired Skills:
Exposure to multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
Knowledge of GSuite Kubernetes and serverless architectures.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
