1. Operational Oversight
Supervise and coordinate hospital operations during night shifts.
Monitor patient admission discharge and transfer processes to ensure timely service delivery.
Ensure availability of critical resources (beds equipment staff) across departments.
Respond to and resolve operational issues or emergencies in coordination with relevant departments.
2. Staff Coordination
Act as the administrative authority for staff during night shifts.
Ensure staff attendance shift coverage and address any HR-related concerns.
Coordinate with nursing supervisors and department heads to manage staffing gaps or critical incidents.
3. Patient Services
Monitor patient care processes ensuring comfort safety and satisfaction.
Address patient or family concerns/complaints promptly and escalate when necessary.
Facilitate communication between patients/families and hospital departments.
4. Compliance and Safety
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols infection control and safety standards.
Monitor security and fire safety measures coordinating with security and facility teams.
Report incidents and ensure appropriate documentation (e.g. incident reports patient grievances).
5. Reporting and Handover
Prepare detailed night shift handover reports for day shift management.
Document all significant events operational bottlenecks and action taken.
Conduct quick audits/checks on key performance areas (e.g. cleanliness pharmacy supply ICU occupancy).
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Conflict resolution and crisis management
Ability to multitask under pressure
Sound understanding of hospital workflows clinical coordination and administrative processes
Proficient in MS Office and Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
Working Conditions:
Night shift-based role may include weekends and public holidays
Exposure to hospital environments including emergency and critical care areas
Must be available for emergency call-ins if required and enforce night-shift protocols.
Qualifications :
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Management Hospital Administration Nursing Medical or related field (Masters preferred).
Minimum 35 years of hospital operations experience including supervisory roles.
Experience working night shifts in a tertiary care hospital is an advantage.
