Job Description

We are currently seeking an Operations Leader to become part of the Ulbrich Precision Alloys team located in New Bedford MA. Ulbrich Precision Alloys is a global producer of high-performance materials and solutions for a variety of markets. We partner with our customers to deliver extraordinary materials that enable our customers to reach new heights with their demanding applications.

The Operations Leader will manage the daily operations of the plant to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. The primary purpose of this job is to provide leadership and direction in the day-to-day operations to accomplish business objectives in the areas of Safety People Quality Responsiveness and Cost for the assigned operations.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The essential duties and responsibilities listed below are not all encompassing.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned consistent with business requirements.)
    Lead and direct work assignments to respective hourly personnel in the organization unit operations adhering to safety and housekeeping controls;
    Assure availability of operations equipment for on-time delivery. Assure correct operation of equipment for quality assurance;
    Report breakdown and equipment repair needs to maintenance immediately as they occur and reduce equipment delay times by working closely with maintenance personnel;
    Works closely with inside and outside support personnel for mill activity coordination.
 


Qualifications :

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:
    High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate or Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred.
    Experience in adapting Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques to the production environment. 
    Experience with metals processing 
    Ability to work a rotating shift schedule
    Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office. 
    Demonstrated leadership experience initiative discipline and drive for continuous improvement in an unionized industrial production environment. 
    Considerable knowledge of equipment capabilities processes procedures and management associated with a production department.
    Proven ability to work well in a team environment excellent people skills strong written and verbal communication skills and effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
