Job Description

About this job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Bilingual Pricing Actuary to join our Life & Health Reinsurance team. The successful candidate is fluent in English and French will play a critical role in leading quotation opportunities research and development and building relationships with clients to support our life reinsurance business in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage reinsurance quote opportunities in accordance with internal guidelines and client deadlines.
  • Responsible for developing key pricing assumptions for quote opportunities. 
  • Lead the development of AXIS pricing models. 
  • Develop and maintain standards of best practice within the pricing team. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. 
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management. 
  • Attend client meetings and build industry relationships especially with French-speaking clients. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of reinsurance treaties and recommend adjustments as needed. 

Qualifications :

Technical Skills / Competencies:

  • Fluent in both English and French (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. 
  • Proficient in Moodys AXIS and Microsoft Excel.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in actuarial science or related discipline. 

Professional Qualifications or Designations:

  • Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) or equivalent designation such as FSA.
