The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.
Job Duties:
- Assign repair orders to technicians based on their skill levels and areas of expertise while considering business needs and prioritization of tasks; ensure that each repair is handled by the most qualified technician.
- Ensure that all completed documentation complies with regulatory and company standards including verifying that all necessary information is recorded accurately and completely.
- Ensure that the work is booked to the appropriate lines within two days; verify that parts and labor are accounted for correctly in repair orders.
- Maintain a dispatch log that tracks the assignment of repair orders technicians workload and the progress of repairs to help in manage workflow and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Maintain a log of repeat repairs to identify any recurring issues and take appropriate action to prevent them in the future.
- Keep open lines of communication between service advisors technicians and the parts department ensuring that everyone is aware of the current status of repairs and any potential issues.
- Once repairs are completed close out the repair orders ensuring that all work is accurately recorded and the customer is billed correctly.
- Identify areas of improvement in the dispatch process and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency customer satisfaction and overall performance.
- Adhering to dealership policies procedures and regulatory requirements related to vehicle service and customer service.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
Education and/or Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of automotive software solutions including proficiency in CDK and/or myKaarma systems
- Additional education certifications or related-experience is generally preferred; including ASE certification OEM certification associates degree in auto maintenance and repair etc.
Relevant Work Experience:
- Knowledge of vehicle/engine repairs
- Prior experience in dispatching or coordinating work schedules in an automotive repair or similar environment preferred but not required
- Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions and directions
