Description
General Summary:
Inspects castings to ensure maintaining quality castings are being placed on the pallets for assigned machines.
Essential Functions:
(1) Cleans flash runners flow pads off for assigned machines.
(2) Inspects castings to ensure there are no defects following the inspection standards for assigned machines.
(3) Perform machine start up under the direction of a qualified operator.
(4) Communicates with other operators to discuss any problems occurring with castings.
(5) Provides cleaning on and around die cast machine on a daily basis.
(6) Covers for breaks and lunch.
(7) Prepares appropriate daily paper work associated with the die cast operation.
(8) Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Marginal Functions:
(1) Periodically performs sort/reworks.
(2) Periodically provides assistance to die casters.
Minimum Qualifications:
(1) High school diploma OR equivalent required.
(2) Good mechanical skills.
(3) Certified fork truck operator.
(4) Ability to use various hand tools.
(5) Must be able to pass necessary entry level assessments.
Working Conditions:
(1) Plant conditions including exposure to dirt fumes noise and cleaning chemicals.
(2) Walking regularly.
(3) Ability to lift and move 40-80 pounds.
(4) Regular kneeling squatting or working in otherwise uncomfortable work positions.
(5) Standing and bending for extended periods of time.
(6) Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job as indicated on the physical requirement addendum for Die Cast Direct Labor.
