The assistant softball coach is responsible for assisting the head coach and athletic director to provide athletic instruction maintain equipment and facilities and supervise athletes living in the dormitory. This role is focused on training and mentoring athletes with a primary emphasis on pitching mechanics.

Responsibilities:
- 60% Provides assistance to Head Coach with activities and essential daily work associated with the program and student athletics including but not limited to recruitment game preparation on-the-field coaching video work scouting study hall NJCAA compliance paperwork and community involvement.
- 15% Assists student-athletes with skill development and monitors academic progress and social skills.
- 10% Recruits potential student atheletes.
- 10% Performs basic accounting tasks such as entering requests for purchase orders entering invoices to be paid from the proper account and other basic financial record keeping
- 5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree is required.
- A Masters degree is preferred.
- Successful experience coaching/playing at the collegiate level or higher is required.
- Successful experience as an assistant coach at the collegiate level is preferred.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Work involves motivating or influencing others.
- Must have knowledge of the game skill level to teach the game and comprehension of evaluating talent.
- Passion for being a highly transformational coach.
- Drive to recruit and develop players.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations promptly.
- The position requires moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing repetitive lifting of lightweight objects and frequent bending or stooping.
- Job may require periodic lifting of heavy objects over 50 pounds.
