DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities
- Provides food water and basic husbandry care for a variety of animal species as trained by the animal care technician.
- Cleans and sanitizes cages according to prescribed standards.
- Observes animals on a daily basis to assess health environmental conditions and social environment and advises the animal care technician if any problems or critical health observations occur.
- Maintains lab storage areas and treatment rooms including sweeping and mopping floors as needed
- Watering of greenhouse plants as needed and observing aquaponics system for any possible problems. Feed fish if necessary.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Must be reliable dependable and detail-oriented.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student at Ithaca College
- Prior experience handling small rodents is preferred but not essential
- Preference given to students majoring in Biology Biochemistry or ENVS
