Job Description

Position Summary

The Housing Stabilization Program (HSP) is a grant funded pilot program focusing on placing homeless shelter residents into permanent housing and providing them with enhanced case management to accelerate their reintegration into the community provide housing stability and improve overall housing retention rates.

This position is responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare submit manage and track all business-related information for the Housing Stability Program (HSP). This includes but is not limited to; gathering and submitting stats for grant requirements maintaining and updating reports and data in HMIS processing check requests and invoices and keeping records of financial and vendor information.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in developing preparing and reviewing policies and creating step-by-step procedure for each position and function of the program.
  • Assist in developing and preparing information for tracking and reports
  • Complete client direct service invoices; work closely with the Finance Departmen for processing
  • Compile and submit check requests to Finance Department; revise requests as required
  • Maintain files of assisted residents and compile reports for Program Supervisor as required
  • Administrative liaison to Program Supervisor Manager and Quality Assurance Landlord Engagement and case management staff
  • Assist and support in case management or landlord engagement as needed.
  • Liaison between Anaheim Emergency Shelter (AES) shelter staff and HSP staff
  • Order office and program supplies
  • Receive referrals track and input of new enrollments into HMIS
  • Track vendor invoices and process payments to accounting as needed
  • Coordinate and send mailings on behalf of program
  • Track new referrals check requests and any other information as requested
  • Schedule and track staff trainings
  • Process new hire and volunteer applications
  • Report monthly stats on Turbo stats database
  • Assist in answering phones filing and general office support
  • Assist in accepting verifying and scheduling new residents
  • Assists and support other projects as assigned

PAY RATE: $28.00-$30.00/hr.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk stand bend squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp push pull objects such as files file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred; HS diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience
  • Prefer experience working with or around those with substance abuse mental illness or homelessness
  • Must have experience in word excel PowerPoint and outlook
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred

Skills Knowledge & Abilities

  • Driving Test and clean MVR check (required).
  • A criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
  • Abide by Salvation Army Policies and Procedures and have an acceptance of Salvation Army philosophy and mission.

  • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records
  • Ability to relate with others and be a team player on all levels
