Job Description

KVEO CBS 4 in Harlingen/Brownsville/McAllen TX (DMA 80) is hiring an investigative multimedia journalist to join 4 Investigates an award-winning team of journalists. Through tip-driven and enterprise investigations 4 Investigates exposed corruption among elected leaders. CBS 4s overall station brand is in-depth investigative.

This MMJ will work with our Investigative Producer on short- and long-term investigations pursue follow-up reports break investigative angles when a major news story arises and work on specific investigative beats. The team also consistently tackles incoming tips uncovers problems and holds those responsible accountable.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates should know the basics of data analysis public information requests backgrounding interviewing subjects/sources digital storytelling and shooting/editing video.
  • They should also be open to collaboration with an entire team of investigators.
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Candidates must have excellent reading writing spelling grammar and organizational skills.
  • Proficient at digital video editing.
  • Confident at ad-libing presentations without the aid of scripts and/or teleprompters.
  • Possesses exceptional research skills.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred
  • Flexibility to work any shift
  • Valid drivers license with a good driving record
