Job Description

Description
  • (Internal Role: Quality Manager)
    • Developand manage the quality management program for the Rapid Transit Operations Delivery portfolio including the quality management system quality assurance audit and continuous improvement
    • Oversee and coordinate all quality related matters with stakeholders overseeing RT Projects. Furthermore they will be responsible for the development of quality management practices to a world class state and share across the Metrolinx Enterprise
    • Responsible for the leadership and delivery of Quality Management across RT Operations comprising the quality management system assurance audit and continual improvement
    • Lead the development of quality management competence through increasing understanding of quality management principles and practices in alignment with ISO 9001
    • Responsible for developing the Quality Management Program and aligning it with the enterprise quality framework
    • Establish RT Operations processes for quality and ensure accountability within each area
    • Development of multi-year audit strategies to provide assurance over the clients complex contracting and delivery models with consideration of international best practice approaches
    • Responsible for ensuring appropriate governance processes are in place to facilitate the application of quality management in RT Operations
    • Develop quality management framework and guidelines that are in line with enterprise quality management and industry best practices
    • Responsible for the coordination and oversight of all quality related matters delivered by Project Stakeholders
    • Oversight for all document control functions
    • Recommend process improvements and areas for cost savings in the development of procurement and tendering documents
    • Coach lead and mentor team members and provide regular performance assessments to employees
    • Educate team members on processes and tools leverage the creativity and experience of project team members to solve issues as they arise share experiences and learning.
    • Complete any tasks assigned by the Quality Director in an efficient and timely manner
  • Working Conditions
    • Office-based and on-site


Requirements
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 12 years of experience in the engineering and construction sector
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree or diploma in Engineering
  • Licenses OR Certifications:
    • Holding recognized certification in area of specialty
    • Certified QMS 2015 Auditor or have experience in a similar quality management representative role for a transit project of a similar scope to this Project and have successfully completed an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Course
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Demonstrated senior leadership experience in Quality Management with at least five years at corporate level and experience implementing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
    • Relevant Quality Management qualification from a recognized Institution and Professional Engineering designation would be an asset
    • Demonstrable highly skilled experience of successfully managing competing objectives of external and internal stakeholders and recognizing materiality
    • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
    • Ability to communicate or interface effectively with senior management
    • Ability to engage and influence a wide variety of portfolio program and project resources
    • Excellent leadership skills to motivate a team set high standards and clear expectations manage expectations and outputs
    • Excellent writing skills with experience authoring technical quality management documentation policy plans processes procedures guides
    • Excellent oral and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively in a large integrated matrix team environment
    • Effective skills in Microsoft Office
    • Proficient in relevant construction-related software
    • In-depth understanding of prevailing construction means and methods in relevant area
    • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines
    • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
    • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
    • Equipped to work independently and as part of a team
