Position: Assistant Director - Procurement
Location: Canberra ACT (flexible working arrangements available)
Estimated Start Date: ASAP
Engagement Type: Labour hire
Duration:
Approx. 3-month contract with potential to extend

Salary:$81.98 per hour plus 12% superannuation
Qualifications: Working with Vulnerable People check is required

Job Overview:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Assistant Director to join a state government department in a fast-paced and strategic procurement environment. This is a role where you will have overall responsibility for implementing the range of procurement functions to ensure services are delivered within required timeframes for project activities. This role is perfect for a high-performing and professional individual who has detailed knowledge of procurement policies and procedures has experience in procurement and contract management in a service delivery environment and can maintain effective relationships.

Duties:

  • Lead the delivery of procurement activities to ensure services are available when required and outcomes delivered in line with project timeframes.
  • ProvideSubject Matter Expertise on procurement processes.
  • Advise the Senior Directors Finance and Client Services in Project Management activities including business case development and reporting.
  • Develop procurement documentation including Statements of Requirement Tender Evaluation Plans and Reports and similar documents to ensure high quality procurement outcomes.
  • Liaise with stakeholders attend meetings and develop linkages with justice partners and other government directorates to support.
  • This position involves direct supervision of one staff member.

Skills and Experience:

  • Detailed knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply procurement policies and procedures and comply with legislative guidelines and other statutory requirements across a variety of procurement values and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management in a service delivery environment.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills including attention to detail and ability to develop procurement related documentation and correspondence.
  • Qualifications and/or experience in procurement is highly desirable.

Eligibility:

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.

  • Must obtain/maintain WWVP check.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal history check.
