About the Role:

Due to increasing opportunities and demand for our teams skills and experience our Newcastle team is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Environmental Consultant that is eager to develop their skills by working with a dynamic respected team in an organisation that offers tremendous mentoring and development opportunities.

As a member of our NSW Planning and Assessment Team you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients by delivering comprehensive environmental impact assessments environmental planning approvals and environmental management projects across various sectors including renewables resources and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and conducting environmental impact assessments and environmental management and compliance documents
  • Gather analyse and interpret environmental data from various sources (e.g. field studies surveys GIS data)
  • Ensure that projects comply with local state and federal environmental regulations and standards
  • Assist in planning and coordinating environmental projects including timelines budgets and resources
  • Engage with stakeholders (e.g. clients communities governmental agencies) to gather input and address concerns
  • Prepare detailed reports including findings recommendations and mitigation strategies for clients and regulatory bodies

About You:

  • Degree qualification in environmental science planning or related discipline
  • Up to 2 years experience ideally as an Environmental Scientist or Planner in a consulting environment
  • Strong technical aptitude and project management skills
  • Adaptability to undertake a range of technical work based on project requirements
  • Interest and aptitude in working across multiple disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive team and client relationships
  • Understanding of and demonstrated experience in approvals and environmental assessments under NSW legislation preferable
  • Consulting experience or expertise in related environmental fields is advantageous
