Your role

As a Purchasing and Procurement Officer your role centers on the development and management of the engineering inventory process through our ERP system. You will oversee the end-to-end purchase order process from creation to delivery ensuring timely and accurate procurement of spare parts and services whilst maintaining communication with the Maintenance Supervisor and Manager to align procurement activities with operational needs.

Leveraging your expertise you will provide accurate monthly financial reports on material spend tobudget ensure regular engagement with vendors to benchmark pricing and maintain cost-effective sourcing. Timely completion of invoicing is critical to your success in this role in order to contribute to smooth financial and operational workflows. You will be someone who is driven by process improvement and that will drive the implementation of initiatives that create efficiencies and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the purchase order process
  • Development and management of the engineering inventory process via our ERP system
  • Support the Engineering Manager with contract supply agreements
  • Deliver cost savings through vendor negotiations price list bench marking and preferred supplier agreements
  • Prepare spare parts and materials financial reports
  • Assist in the coordination and procurement of Engineering components for Capital projects

Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications in Supply Chain or Engineering and/or equivalent experience in inventory controlling within a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of invoicing payments process and administration
  • Sound knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and computerised maintenance management systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
