The Office provides expert advice technical guidance training and policy to the Department. Through various forms of intervention including negotiations problem solving mediation investigations training and counseling the unit offers balanced advocacy to management and individual employees to protect their rights and facilitate a more harmonious work environment. This is accomplished through implementing policy procedures and directives that assist the organization and its members to achieve these goals. In addition duties within all sections of the Compliance Office are all conducted to ensure a high level of community confidence in the Departments operations.
Specific to this position the Compliance Office responds and engages in assisting employees and management through the department complaint processes professional standards investigations and administrative reviews to enhance and maintain the professional integrity of the department.
The Compliance Officer works independently with limited supervision to provide workplace investigations workplace assessments interpretation and advice regarding rules policies statutes and guidelines.
This position performs workplace investigations administrative reviews and workplace assessments to ensure a high level of confidence in Departmental operations. This position will also be responsible for responding to all Unemployment Claims on behalf of the Department.
Plans and organizes daily and long range work schedules to ensure investigations are completed within the standard 60 day time frame. Implements activities and deliverables in accordance with program priorities and estimated schedules. Use a variety of approaches including investigative and forensic techniques in interviewing gathering and assessing evidence related to alleged wrongdoing; potential violations of laws rules and regulations policies and procedures.
Respond to all Unemployment Claims (UE) on behalf of CDPS.
Maintain knowledge of personnel database systems to research and respond to UE Claims within the time frames provided.
Adhere to all UE Claim time frames to ensure CDPS responses are accurate and timely.
Work with former employees AA to ensure UE Claims Court Administrators questions are answered thoroughly and timely.
Research gather and respond with personnel related information when AA wants to dispute UE Claims.
Provide backup to other team members as necessary.
Place litigation holds in google vault when requested by Attorney Generals Office due to a claim filed against CDPS.
Place litigation holds in google vault for all investigations that are assigned to the Compliance Office.
Review and research information prior to lifting any litigation hold to ensure the matter has been sufficiently resolved and no other items are pending in cases.
Work with AA and AGs Office to communicate about the status of a litigation hold.
Make notifications to staff as appropriate when litigation holds are placed.
Complete quarterly reviews on older holds to determine appropriateness of lifting the hold.
Provide annual reports to the Divisions on the members that are currently under a litigation hold.
Provide backup to other team members as necessary.

Proven Experience Knowledge Skills
Seven (7) years of specialized experience in providing workplace compliance investigations effective examination of potential violation of laws regulations and internal policies related to discrimination retaliation harassment hostile work environment unequal employment practices and the like.Preferred Qualifications and Competencies
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including the ability to question and work effectively at all levels within and outside CDPS.
