JOB TITLE: Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Level 1

POSITION TIMING: Immediate hire upon Contract Award and completion of all background and security investigations. Candidates must be willing to sign a Letter of Intent for submission with their resume.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the physical readiness and performance optimization of Aircrew by delivering holistic training programs that integrate prehabilitation performance training and strength and conditioning principles. CSCS personnel shall support the Human Performance (HP) team in planning executing and validating program effectiveness.
Provide instructional support data collection and serve in a complementary role during rehabilitation efforts with a return-to-fly mindset.
Develop and implement comprehensive evidence-based training programs for all aircrew adapting to individual and group needs as required. This includes instruction in strength mobility and conditioning concepts; use of relevant fitness technologies; and employment of performance evaluation tools (e.g. Volume of Oxygen Consumption (VO2) Max Wingate force plate Aircrew Cognitive and Physical Assessment (ACPA) testing).
Deliver classroom and hands-on training sessions in alignment with CRAFT syllabi ensuring material is relevant accurate and tailored to the physical demands of combat aviation. Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and health education initiatives including seminars briefings and social marketing efforts.
Maintain accurate documentation in the CRAFT system of record within 72 hours of service delivery including client encounters performance metrics and sessions taught. Provide written evaluations of emerging technologies and support implementation upon Program Office approval.
Collaborate with Site Lead and Domain Lead to ensure program alignment standardization and best practice dissemination. Assist with curriculum content development or re-design based on expert assessment of the community served as requested. Attend quarterly domain-specific sync calls and engage in program improvement initiatives in coordination with the Program Office.
Support development of training materials and syllabus content for the physical domain and contribute to curriculum refinement based on feedback and ongoing research. Build a rapport with students by maintaining a consistent and visible presence in flying squadrons (minimum 20% of duty time).
Assist with referral recommendations to aviation psychologists Cognitive Performance Specialists (CPS) physical therapy or flight medicine if services needed are beyond the CSCS scope of practice. Ensure readiness and participation during PASO site visits and implement feedback provided in future instruction.
Participate and assist with planning/coordination of enterprise-wide initiatives such as the annual Aircrew Human Performance Summit physical domain qualification course support distinguished visitor engagements and contribute to HP-related research as requested by the Program Office.
Maintain all required professional certifications complete the CRAFT Physical Domain Qualification Course prior to independent instruction and uphold industry standards in training sanitation (weekly equipment/facility cleaning) and recordkeeping.
May travel to other CRAFT locations or potential sites to provide in-person or virtual support facilitate program expansion or support TDY aircrew as requested by the Government.
Complete all required CRAFT compliance training and documentation including CRAFT Program Familiarization HPO Inappropriate Relationships and Harassment Training and Acknowledgment DOD/DISA Information Systems Policy social media Policy and PII Training. Maintain records of training completion and credentialing for Government review upon request.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Secret clearance required.
2 years of full-time experience as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist in collegiate (or higher) professional or tactical athletics; aerospace industry test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment.
EDUCATION:
Undergraduate degree in Human Performance Kinesiology Exercise Science or a related field.
National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC).
Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training.
