Executive Director Search and Evaluation Oncology
Location: Boston MA or Gaithersburg MD

We are seeking a scientifically minded leader who is passionate about innovation in Oncology to join AstraZenecas Oncology R&D Search and Evaluation group. AstraZeneca has grown to be a leader in Oncology through bold decisions in both our internal pipeline as well as business development. We aim to expand our leadership by leveraging external innovation and building strong scientific networks.
The Executive Director of Search & Evaluation Global Business Development & Licensing Oncology R&D is a leadership role in the Oncology R&D Strategy Business Development & Licensing organization at AstraZeneca. In this role you will support global business development and licensing initiatives and has a direct impact on the success of the Oncology R&D strategy and portfolio. The S&E group is responsible for proactively scouting external innovation to augment AstraZeneca Discovery Early and Late Oncology R&D. By assembling teams of internal specialists you will conduct due diligence activities that ensure an understanding of investment opportunities.
By effectively synthesizing and communicating the merits of potential investment opportunities you will enable enterprise decision-making to ensure that Oncology R&D science capabilities and project portfolio are fit for future challenges and opportunities.
The successful candidate will have a strong R&D scientific and clinical background proven project and people leadership business and strategic acuity and interpersonal skills. In addition the ability to engage and collaborate across organizational boundaries with an entrepreneurial demeanor by acting with urgency and agility.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $ 213760 - 320641USD. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience. In addition our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles) and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program 401(k) plan; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and health benefits including medical prescription drug dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
