Job Summary
The Brain Stimulation Mechanisms Laboratory (BSML) is seeking a self-motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Research (TMS) Program in the Division of Depression and Anxiety Disorders at McLean Hospital. We aim to understand the neural mechanisms of non-invasive brain stimulation including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and to leverage this knowledge to improve clinical effectiveness. We bring together international experts in PTSD depression and anxiety; in non-invasive brain-based pharmacology and psychotherapy interventions; and the engineering of new tools for imaging and intervention. Our goals are to combine this interdisciplinary expertise to produce novel and robust interventions to prevent and decrease risk of suicide in at-risk populations. Our project aims to fundamentally change interventions for cognitive and emotional flexibility under a transdiagnostic and universal set of conditions.Qualifications
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Applicant will conduct clinical experiments and data analysis on clinical and biomarker outcomes for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)-funded project Novel and Conventional Interventions for Cognitive and Emotional Flexibility in Patient Trauma (NOCICEPT).
Present the research findings at international/domestic conferences. Prepare and submit manuscripts for journal publication.
Write research proposals to secure funding for BSML projects.
Mentor research assistants in BSML providing guidance and support in their research activities.
