The General Ledger Accountants main responsibilities include maintaining integrity of general ledger accounts as presented on financial statements and preforming monthly audits of reconciliations. A successful candidate must be highly organized and analytical.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and audit monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as prepared by others.
  • Prepare reconciliations as needed.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Examine accounting records including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
  • Develop implement and maintain proper keeping of financial records and making use of current technologies.
  • Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
  • Protect the organizations value by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills have the ability to problem solve and work and perform independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess strong numeracy and analytical skills.
