Job Description
Are you ready to take your career to the next level as a Tax Accountant Securian Financial is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team and make a significant impact on our financial operations. As a Tax Accountant you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations preparing accurate tax returns and conducting thorough audits. Your expertise in strategic tax planning will help optimize our financial success while your excellent communication skills will facilitate effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepares components of the Federal income tax returns for review by Tax Manager and Tax Director.
- Provides assistance to various members of the Corporate Tax Department with monthly and quarterly tax reporting.
- Assists with Subsidiary Federal and State Compliance. Assists with calculating tax provision for quarterly financial statements.
- Assists with conducting research regarding federal and state withholding and tax reporting laws and presents to various members of the Corporate tax department for review and interpretation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Federal tax law especially as it relates to life and P&C insurance companies to calculate tax liability and conduct tax planning.
- Knowledge of GAAP Tax accounting standards and Statutory SSAP 101
- Knowledge of investment topics and taxation of investments (bonds stocks and other investments).
