Job Description

EMS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Abrader Operator in our Hamburg PA facility.

Position Summary:

Process material through the abrader by following the process defined by the manufacture and instructed through training and work instructions.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and correct areas of deficiency prior to the start up of the abrader and while running.
  • Monitor belts for wear and change as needed.
  • Verify material characteristics prior to running material.
  • Assure that thickness tolerance and surface quality of the material meets the specified requirements.
  • Maintain acceptable level of housekeeping order and cleanliness in area
  • Load and unload large coils of material.
  • Work independently while following production schedules to prepare coils for the bonding operation.
  • Maintain production records and make data entries into computer systems such as Oracle Kronos etc.
  • May require use of fork truck and overhead crane and hoist systems.
  • Wear all required PPE at all times.
  • Complete setups routine maintenance and other equipment related operations.
  • May be required to pack material
  • Other duties as required.
