Summary of Job Duties:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of patients will work as part of the interdisciplinary team based on licensure title and competencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
PRN staff are only allowed to work 1400 hours in a 12 month rolling year which begins at orientation and includes any education hours
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree Nursing Diploma Bachelors in Nursing or Masters in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
Current and valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Arkansas
Excellent communication skills basic computer skills strong work ethic and accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
2 or more years of RN experience
Current BLS
Employees in this role must be fitted for capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

- The RN seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.
- The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice.
- The RN provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards.
- The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM).
- Promotion is based on years of experience satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager.
- Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify prevent and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation de-escalation personal protection from physical assaults and physical alternatives within six months of hire.
- PRI Inpatient Units include the General Adult Inpatient Unit the Womens Unit the Child Diagnostic Unit the off-campus Pulaski County Regional Crisis Stabilization Unit and the Interventional Hospital-Based Clinic.
