Head Chef Nursing Home 34500
Hours: 40 hours per week across 4 days (alternate weekends)
Our client a beautifully appointed nursing home set within a characterful Victorian property is looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead their kitchen team. The service prides itself on providing homely yet luxurious surroundings excellent standards of care and exceptional food tailored to a variety of dietary needs.

What Were Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef within a care home or nursing home setting is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of specialist diets allergies food textures (including IDDSI standards) and nutrition in older adults.
- A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum Level 2; Level 3 preferred).
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide others.
- A compassionate and resident-focused approach to cooking.
- Organised calm under pressure and enthusiastic about delivering great food.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan prepare and serve varied balanced and nutritious meals that cater to a wide range of dietary needs including allergies intolerances and modified textures.
- Lead support and develop a small kitchen team ensuring smooth service and adherence to food safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure residents dietary requirements are met and mealtime experiences are enjoyable and dignified.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times.
- Manage ordering stock control and budget responsibilities with minimal waste.
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
