***This position is for an Accounting Supervisor for our Vancouver offices***
About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Controller you will lead property accounting activities for your team including the budgeting and reporting process within a specific portfolio of assigned commercial properties. During lively times you roll up your sleeves and jump in to work side by side with your team. Youll have the opportunity to mentor and share your expertise with your team as well as work with and develop property accountants continuously. Youre always looking at the bigger picture yet leading all aspects of detailed work and producing high-quality reporting for our clients.
Ensure accurate and timely performance and reporting of real estate accounting activities for a national diversified portfolio of Retail Office and Industrial properties.
You continuously evaluate the efficiency of internal processes to seek opportunities for process improvements.
You develop and sustain a highly engaged team through strong leadership open communication and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
What you bring:
3 years of progressive leadership responsibilities and accounting experience within the commercial real estate industry
Minimum 3-5 years of senior-level property accounting experience within the commercial real estate industry preferably leading a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to optimally communicate across all levels within as well as outside the organization
Experience in leading and developing impactful teams
Intermediate to Sophisticated Excel skills
Independent self-starter and also works well within in a team-based environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to handle conflicting priorities within structured deadlines and deliverables
Participate in the development training and implementation of new accounting policies controls and procedures
Advanced education in accounting CPA designation is an asset
Experience with audits strong understanding of accounting standards (ASPE / IFRS)
Reporting at a portfolio level including MD&A style lease and operations reporting
Approximate Salary Range for Role: $93000.00 to $108000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training.
