Duties/Responsibilities:
- Uses tools and dies to build fixtures; creates dies as required to construct new fixtures.
- Repairs dies molds and tools when needed; disassembles molds jigs tools and fixtures then reassembles when repaired.
- Read blueprints sketches or computer-aided design (CAD)
- Use machine tools such as lathes milling machines and grinders to produce precision metal parts.
- Set up operate and disassemble conventional manual automatic and CNC machine tools
- Align secure and adjust cutting tools and workpiecesmonitor the feed and speed of machines
- Turn mill drill shape and grind machine parts to specificationsfile grind and adjust parts so that they fit together properly
- Measure examine and test completed products for defectstest completed tools and dies to ensure that they meet specifications
- Smooth and polish the surfaces of parts or products tools and diespresent finished workpieces to customers and make modifications if needed
- Compute and verify dimensions sizes shapes and tolerances of work pieces.
- Construct precision tools or metal forms.
- Produce jigs and fixturesdevices that hold metal while it is bored stamped or drilledand gauges and other measuring devices.
- Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality.
- Regularly tests all equipment tools and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
- Working understanding of geometry trigonometry and algebra.
- Thorough understanding of metallic properties.
- Ability to work independently and with engineers and machinists.
Pay: $20.77 - $34.61/per hour DOE
Other Requirements:
Note: Physical job requirements may include standing use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting lifting carrying bending and stooping during the course of the job.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
