Job Description

Overview:
The Automotive Warranty Booker/Timekeeper plays a pivotal role in the service department ensuring accurate processing of warranty claims and precise tracking of technician labor times. This position bridges the gap between service operations and administrative compliance maintaining the integrity of warranty submissions and labor records.
Key Responsibilities:
Warranty Processing:
Review and Process Claims: Examine repair orders to ensure all warranty claims are accurate and comply with manufacturer guidelines.
Documentation: Ensure all necessary documentation is complete and properly filed for each warranty claim.
Submission and Tracking: Submit warranty claims to manufacturers or distributors and monitor their status until resolution.
Communication: Liaise with service advisors and technicians to clarify information and gather additional details as needed.
Reconciliation: Match warranty receivables with payments and address any discrepancies promptly.
Timekeeping:
Record Maintenance: Accurately record technician clock-in and clock-out times including start and end times for each repair task.
Labor Tracking: Monitor and calculate total labor hours for each technician daily ensuring alignment with repair orders.
Compliance: Ensure all labor records comply with company policies and labor regulations.
Reporting: Generate reports on labor utilization and efficiency for management review.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in automotive warranty processing or timekeeping roles.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive repair processes and terminology.
Software Proficiency: Experience with dealership management systems (e.g. CDK Reynolds & Reynolds) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with team members and external partners.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues in warranty claims or time records and implement corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: Relevant certifications in automotive service or warranty administration.
Manufacturer Experience: Prior experience working with specific automotive brands or manufacturers.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data related to labor efficiency and warranty claim trends.
$19 - $22 an hour
