Job Description
The Lecturer is responsible for teaching one (1) course in the fall of 2025 and one (1) course in the spring of 2026 including courses in the acting sequence including but not limited to DRAM 135 DRAM 150 DRAM 250 and DRAM 300.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
The ideal candidate will hold an MFA in Acting or a related field and have a strong record of professional performance experience. They should demonstrate excellence in teaching acting across multiple levels from beginning undergraduates to advanced MFA students with at least three years of college-level teaching experience. Experience teaching courses in acting voice and dramatic literature is required. A commitment to inclusive student-centered pedagogy and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations is essential; additional expertise in areas such as movement or directing is a plus. Preferred qualifications include additional professional experience in areas such as directing movement voice and speech or dialect coaching. The ideal candidate will have the ability to integrate diverse acting methodologies and pedagogies including both classical and contemporary approaches and experience teaching dramatic literature from a variety of historical and global contexts. Experience mentoring graduate students and supporting their artistic and professional growth is highly valued as is a demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive student-centered learning environments. Familiarity with current industry practices such as digital media devised theatre or interdisciplinary performance is a plus along with strong collaboration communication and organizational skills. Active engagement in the professional field and a willingness to contribute to the academic community through events recruitment or curriculum development are also desirable.
