Mount Abraham Unified School District has an immediate opening for an Educational Assistant to support the implementation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for a preschool-aged child with disabilities. Working under the direction of licensed educators and service providers the assistant helps promote student engagement independence and school readiness in inclusive or special education settings. Responsibilities Include:Providing direct support to an individual student to reinforce instruction and skill in implementing daily routines and activities that support learning across developmental domains (communication motor cognitive social-emotional and self-help). Support the student in participating in classroom activities including transitions circle time play-based learning and specials. Implement accommodations and behavioral support strategies as outlined in the students IEP or behavior plan. Collect data and observations to support student progress monitoring. Help maintain a safe clean and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Assist students with personal care needs which may include toileting feeding dressing and mobility. Foster positive interactions and relationships with students families and team members. Participate in team meetings and professional development as with young children requires that the individual is physically capable of getting up and down from the floor lifting 50lbs and other associated physical demands. The educational assistant is a unionized non-exempt/hourly position. The pay range is $$22.46 $26.95. The work hours are 7:45 am to 3:15 pm.
