Job Description

Job Summary:

TelaForce is seeking an experienced Program Manager/Technologist to manage and supervise operational maintenance system administration and design/build security and IT system integration projects for public and private sector entities. This position oversees a small team of technicians that diagnose computer problems monitor computer processing systems install software perform tests on computer equipment and programs and maintains video surveillance access control and other electronic security systems/equipment.

Implement system testing and preventive maintenance programs. Perform routine technical security integration functions to support deployment of security engineering activities such as setup operation maintenance modification circuit testing calibration troubleshooting and repair of video surveillance and access control systems. Work from schematics logic diagrams written and verbal descriptions layouts plans and specialized test equipment. Supervise technicians that set up computer equipment schedule maintenance and teach clients to use programs. Issue Requests for Proposals from subcontractors procuring spare parts/supplies and overseeing conduit cabling and fiber-optic infrastructure removal and installation. Assist with troubleshooting testing alignment and adjustments to electronic and computer systems equipment or components.

Experienced in field installations troubleshooting repairs and onsite operation and maintenance of electronic electromechanical and/or mechanical systems subsystems and components for software and data/communication networks. Independently installs operates maintains troubleshoots and/or repairs highly complex mechanical electronic or integrated systems. Apply working technical knowledge to supervising/overseeing routine or complex tasks troubleshooting and repairing equipment and performing activities such as taking test measurements performing test/calibration procedures observing results and recording information for evaluation.

Must possess strong knowledge of computers and how they operate which includes having a broad understanding of hardware and software operating systems and basic computer programming. Familiarity with electronic equipment Internet applications and security is required. Program Manager needs good communication skills because this position requires frequent interaction with clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee system maintenance (preventative repair and upgrades) for client systems to include Flir Latitude Video Management System and Software House Access Control System.
  • Oversee troubleshooting of client systems to determine the level of response required.
  • Maintain security system equipment inventory.
  • Manage the creation and response to trouble tickets.
  • Coordinate with contractors on upgrade projects
  • Work with other staff members to maintain appropriate records
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment for staff and client support via purchasing system
  • Attend meeting with clients to respond to technical issues
  • Assist in preparing responses to RFPs and managing contracts that have been awarded
  • Work directly with partners to develop solutions to client issues
  • Represent TelaForce to clients contractors and others in a professional manner

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years related technician experience and 2 years related supervision experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able to pass Security Contractor Primary Company Representative exam with Texas DPS
  • Must be able to complete Level 4 Criminal Justice Information System course
  • Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to use software packages such as: Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project desirable.
  • Experience as a Technician with extensive hands-on work with video surveillance or access control systems is desirable.
  • Hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Registered as a Security Contractor Primary Company Representative with Texas DPS

Education

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college in engineering computer science information systems or mathematics
