Job Description
Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: Casting
Reports to: Supervisor
Position: Day Shift
Purpose:
The Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for preparing the molds for the Casting line. This work
includes meticulous hand work and strong attention to detail.
General Duties:
- Hand polish molds
- Ensure dimensions and surface finish are maintained
- Use manual drill press
- Fill out required production documents
- Assemble molds
- Test molds for leaks
- Maintain clean/organized work area
Skills:
- Able to work both independently and as a team
- Detail oriented
- Able to work with and understand sensitive measuring equipment
Requirements:
- High school degree or GED equivalency.
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Must be willing to work a (4 Star) 12-hour shifts (willing to work every other weekend and some holidays). Shifts are either 5:00 AM to 5:10 PM or 5:00 PM to 5:10 PM
- Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods to include but not limited to: lifting walking standing stooping pulling and pushing
- Willing to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations; including wearing personal protective equipment
- Must work safely at all times
- Willing to work in hot/humid cold noisy industrial environment
- Willing to work around dust oil grease chemicals and other substances
- Able to use a computer for basic reporting and documentation
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills. Ability to read write and communicate verbally
- Able to accurately use basic math
- Perform other duties as required
