The Building Construction Products division (BCP) at Caterpillar is a global organization responsible for design manufacture and support Caterpillars line of small versatile construction equipment and Work Tools (attachments). In our Clayton NC facility we manufacture Cat Small Wheel Loaders (SWL) distribute parts for a variety of Caterpillar BCP products and host customers and dealers from around the world at the Ed Rapp Visitor Center! Keeping these facilities operational is critical and if you have the right skills knowledge and ability you could help us make this happen as the Facilities Engineering Manager!
As the Facilities Engineering Manager you will assume ownership of capital improvement projects of all shape and sizes for the facility manage a team of 4 direct reports and provide work direction for a team of 3rd party vendors.
What you can look forward to in this role:
- Own capital improvement projects of all shape and sizes for the facility
- Manage a team of 4 direct reports and provide work direction for a team of approximately 10 maintenance professionals.
- Maintain laser focus on safety as you work with your team and ensure third party vendors working on site comply with all safety protocols.
- Own building and grounds maintenance for the SWL Ed Rapp Visitor Center and Smithfield NC warehouse facilities.
- Maintain operation of the mainline AGV system.
- Closely partner with third party service providers including Logistics equipment service providers.
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
- Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate maintain update and store them.
- Manufacturing Standards Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan guide and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
- Plant Facilities Management: Knowledge of processes methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
- Budgeting: Knowledge of organizations budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
- Prior experience in a Facilities or Maintenance leadership role at a manufacturing facility
- Prior experience leading teams that maintain Mechanical & Electrical building systems
- Prior experience managing third party service providers
- Prior experience maintaining & relocating robotic weld systems
- Prior experience maintaining & refurbishing machine center
- Prior experience leading deployment of site predictive maintenance programs
Additional Information:
The primary location for this position is Clayton NC.
Will require selected candidate to be available to work nights weekends and holidays
This position requires employees to work onsite in the office five days a week

Summary Pay Range:
$110520.00 - $165840.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
