Job Description:
- Assesses the breast/chestfeeding needs of parents and infants.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans for parents and infants.
- Provides education and counseling to parents and families on breast/chestfeeding techniques and infant nutrition.
- Evaluates and monitors the progress of parents and infants in meeting their breast/chestfeeding goals.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for parents and infants.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of all lactation consultations and interventions.
Education Requirement:
BSN; Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire required.
Licensure Requirement:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse Registered Dietician Licensed Dietician or Occupational Therapist in the State of Ohio required.
Certifications:
- Registered (R) by the American Dietetic Association or the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy or equivalent licensure required.
- Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association or equivalent licensure and registration required.
- Certification in Lactation Management by International Board of Certified Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) Advanced Nurse Lactation Consultant (ANLC) or equivalent required.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal leadership and teaching abilities.
Experience:
- Two years of clinical experience in relevant field required.
- Two years of mother-infant dyad experiencerequired.
Physical Requirements:
