The Senior Accountant EMEA Direct to Consumer Accounting is a key position in the accounting team. This person will be responsible for performing the day-to-day accounting operations of the Content Accounting team ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies for various businesses within EMEA territories for Warner Bros. Discovery.
Your Role Accountabilities
Performing the end-to-end accounting for content including the accounting for content assets liabilities and expenses for all licensed and owned titles on a title by title basis
Ensure that financial records are complete accurate and in compliance with US GAAP and company policies
Execute the month end close process including the review and approval of journal entries and other financial reports
Work with team members operations and finance to troubleshoot and solve accounting issues during month end close.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate resolution of accounting issues and with other members of the Controllership team to review and resolve any intercompany discrepancies within the group
Timely complete or review account reconciliations to ensure balance sheet accuracy and completeness
Ensure compliance with SOX requirements internal control environment
Key user of SUN systems content accounting subledger requiring in-depth understanding of software functionality and close interaction with systems support team
Work closely with financial accounting teams on the DTC EMEA monthly close reporting and local statutory filing process
Qualifications & Experience...
At least 3 years of work experience in an accounting role and a strong understanding of US GAAP IFRS SOX requirements as required
BS/BA in Accounting from an accredited university
Masters degree in accounting a plus
CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) strongly preferred
Experience performing financial accounting monitoring of key business performance metrics
Strong understanding of financial systems with ability to learn and master new system tools
Attention to detail accuracy and strong organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levels
Experience implementing best practices that require significant innovation for improving processes by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical and business issues and challenges
Embraces change driven by evolving business initiatives and maintains positivity when time-sensitive milestones shift
Willing and able to travel internationally for occasional business trips
