Ifso ourDeputy Team Leadpost in the Enuresis Service at Suffolk County Council could be the role for you.

Join an established team dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of children and young children with Nocturnal Enuresis issues coordinating Paediatric Product Provision alongside supporting Children and Young People (CYP) Services with continence related queries and mandatory continence related training across the county of Suffolk (excluding Lowestoft and Waveney).

Your role and responsibilities

You willwork as the Deputy Team Lead providing evidence -based clinic support for children and young people who have nocturnal enuresis in line with national guidelines andprovide clinical management and supervision to the Enuresis Service.

Managinga complex caseload andproviding specialised clinical care you willwork as an expert practitioner providing a source of expertise in the assessment and treatment of continence needs for children and young people to provide a source of support and advice on paediatric continence issues to clients and their families Paediatricians General Practitioners and other health care professionals.

In addition you will:

  • support clients and families attending clinic screen referrals via single point of access and undertake home /school visits as needed and refer on as appropriate.
  • work autonomously managing the caseload within the Enuresis service providing highly specialised evidence-based care including triaging of referrals from a single point of access.
  • monitor the standard of care ensuring development of good clinical and professional evidence-based practice throughout the Enuresis service.
  • support the Product Provision service for disposable continence products.
  • workwith Children and Young Peoples services to contribute to planning coordinating and developing educational initiatives around continence care.
  • provide robust and credible leadership.
  • support the writing and updating of polices and guidelines relevant to paediatric continence.
  • support the planning coordinating delivering and evaluating the Enuresis Service in line with best practice and client feedback
  • support the line management of staff through effective implementation of all SCC organisational policies and procedures and provide monthly supervision.
  • work with other health professionals as required supporting a multidisciplinary approach.
  • maintain national links with other paediatric enuresis/continence services establishing best practice.

You will need

  • current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registration.
  • first level nursing qualification/degree level or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • evidence of completion of specialist course related to assessment and treatment of bladder and bowel dysfunctions or the willingness to undertake this experience working with children with Enuresis and other continence needs.
  • evidence of continuing professional development.
  • the abilityto develop a team.
  • passion and a commitmentto learning.
