Job Description
Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our clients logistics challenges.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of the financial results of Crane Worldwide Logistics Central Europe.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design implement and oversee financial accounting processes including continuous improvement as company and systems evolve.
- Providing leadership over monthly and annual closing processes business unit reporting budget versus actual analysis including alternate views of the financial statements for management reporting and statutory reporting.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as remaining up to date with the latest financial reporting and accounting methods practices and trends.
- Ensure global accounting policies and procedures are followed.
- Lead the Central European Finance department (DE/NL/BE) 4 local FTE 5 India FTE.
Specific functions included as follows:
- General Ledger accounting and Balance sheet account/Intercompany reconciliation.
- Ensure monthly financial close activities are accurate and on time.
- VAT reporting and reconciliation.
- Control over Cash Collections (Accounts Receivables).
- Control over Accounts Payables process.
- Fixed assets accounting.
- Resolve operational shipment file issues.
- Support Statutory Audits in DE NL BE.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
Position may require extended periods of sitting computer use standing and walking. Some travel may be required within Central Europe.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Significant experience in multi profit center multi legal entity and multi-currency financial reporting with solid understanding of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principals.
- Expert/Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Powerpoint).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal written and comprehension).
- Highly motivated and energetic with a proven ability to work in a fast paced and continually changing environment.
- Able to operate independently and operate within a team environment.
- Able to work with technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
- Skilled in interpreting client requirements and proactively turning them into solutions.
- Prior experience with Sage300 and/or freight forwarding industry is a plus to this position.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates initiative and adaptability.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting equivalent business degree required.
- Certified Public Accountant or eligible candidate preferred.
- Minimum 5 or more years related experience.
- Minimum 2 or more years industry experience preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
