About the Role
The Endoscopy Clinical Nurse provides clinical leadership and advanced nursing care within the Endoscopy Unit. The role supports the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care in alignment with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS) and the organisations policies and procedures. The position contributes to the ACORN GENCA guidelines professional development of staff service improvement and the maintenance of a safe clinical environment.
Requirements of the Role
Essential:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum of 3 years experience in an endoscopy or perioperative setting.
Demonstrated clinical leadership and mentoring skills.
Sound knowledge of infection control principles including endoscope reprocessing.
Experience in managing patients undergoing sedation or general anaesthesia.
Commitment to patient-centred care and quality improvement.
Ability to take initiative is self-motivated and can work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Exhibit a strong work ethic by consistently displaying punctuality integrity respect for others and a dedication to professional standards.
Proficient in:
Problem solving and analytical abilities.
Organisational skills.
Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Recognises that additional duties and responsibilities may be required occasionally beyond those outlined in this document.
You will be required to have or able to obtain:
Tertiary qualification in nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
Verification of eligibility to work in Australia.
Identification check validation.
Police check clearance.
Working with Children (WWC) check.
Desirable:
Postgraduate qualification in Endoscopy Perioperative or Gastroenterology Nursing.
GENCA or ACORN membership.
Previous experience in staff education or competency assessment.
Participation in quality improvement projects.
