You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailLCRA is looking for an experienced engineering technician to join our team. As a part of LCRAs Structural and Civil Engineering team we offer you excellent opportunities to learn and grow through hands-on projects experience under the supervision of a group of well-seasoned engineers designers and technical specialists. You will learn to utilize engineering principles to develop substation sites for the delivery of electricity safely and efficiently across the State of Texas. You will also partake in civil design of substation sites with resilient flood mitigation drainage facilities that will provide Texas residents with reliable energy utility infrastructure for years to come. Moreover you will have opportunities to work with a community of experts across various of engineering background all with the singular focus of enhancing the quality of life of the Texans we serve through water stewardship energy and community service.
You will be trusted to:
Performing site inspection of existing topography and drainage features
Interpreting and Incorporating survey data to develop civil design
Utilizing Civil 3D to perform site grading design
Performing engineering calculations using HydroCAD under guidance of a professional engineer
Modeling vehicular turning path with AutoTURN
Preparing civil construction drawings with specifications
Preparing preliminary grading exhibits for construction cost estimates
Assisting with cost estimate and quantity takeoffs
You qualify with:
- Three or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis; drafting using computer-aided design software performing engineering design or other relevant experience.
- A degree in computer-aided design engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Drivers license if traveling independently to various locations (substations power plants water systems etc.)
You are a great fit with:
Proficient in grading design using Civil 3D
Proficient in AutoCAD MS Office and BlueBeam
Proficient in interpreting survey data
Proficient in AutoTURN
Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge in land development principles
Knowledge in HydroCAD
