A prominent packaging and manufacturing company is seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to partner with Sales and Operations in Lagos. You will deliver financial insights manage cost and margin analytics and support strategic planning to fuel profitable growth across the business.
What You ll Do
- Strategic Financial Planning: Build and maintain comprehensive financial models budgets and forecasts that guide sales production and new-product decisions.
- Cost & Margin Analysis: Analyze production costs and margin drivers identifying opportunities for cost savings pricing optimization and improved breakeven points.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key KPIs (e.g. volume gross margin overhead ratios) and deliver clear reports to the Executive Committee for informed decisions.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with Sales Supply Chain and Operations teams to support pricing strategies profitability reviews and ad-hoc project appraisals.
- Trade Finance Oversight: Manage trade finance reports for raw-material imports and local logistics flagging anomalies in conversion costs lead-time deviations and receivables metrics.
- Supply Chain Finance: Monitor freight-in and freight-out accounts to protect margins. Implement systems to track finished-goods inventory identify slow-moving stocks and maximize return on inventory.
- Foreign Exchange & Treasury: Coordinate FX bidding forward cover execution and cash-flow forecasting. Work with bank treasuries to stay ahead of market developments.
- Insurance & Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments oversee insurance policies (IAR GIT Marine etc.) and manage claims to safeguard company assets.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline financial processes improving MIS reporting enhancing accuracy and boosting overall efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts fostering continuous learning and professional growth.

Requirements
Who You Are
- Seasoned Finance Professional: 10 years in manufacturing finance roles with at least 8 years in a leadership capacity.
- Educational Credentials: Bachelor s degree in Finance Accounting or related field; MBA or master s degree preferred.
- Professional Qualifications: ACA/ACCA required; CFA is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert in financial modeling ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel.
- Strong Communicator: Able to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Analytical & Problem-Solver: Skilled at diagnosing issues developing solutions and driving measurable cost reductions.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
