Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead a dedicated adult social care team within a fast-paced assessment service.
The role is pivotal in delivering high-quality person-centred social work practice across a diverse urban community focusing on older people and adults with physical disabilities.
The post holder will be responsible for managing and developing a multidisciplinary team ensuring robust service delivery safeguarding and continuous improvement in line with national policy and best practice.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Provide leadership and operational management of a team of social workers and officers ensuring performance and outcomes are consistently achieved.
Oversee care assessments support planning safeguarding enquiries and case reviews ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice.
Implement service improvements quality assurance measures and performance monitoring frameworks.
Manage team priorities resource allocation and work planning to meet demand and service expectations.
Provide expert advice on complex cases and decision-making particularly regarding safeguarding mental capacity and continuing care.
Lead and support team supervision recruitment induction and professional development.
Promote integrated working with health voluntary and statutory partners to ensure seamless service provision.
Chair multi-agency meetings case conferences and strategy meetings as appropriate.
Monitor and manage team budgets effectively ensuring financial controls and value for money.
Uphold data protection equality health and safety standards in all aspects of service delivery.
Skills/Experience:
Substantial post-qualification experience in adult social care with proven experience in team or service management.
In-depth knowledge of the legal and policy frameworks governing adult social care including the Care Act Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding adults legislation.
Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to address performance issues and manage change.
Excellent interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Skilled in strategic planning performance monitoring and delivering service improvements.
Proficiency in managing resources budgets and contracts to deliver cost-effective services.
Strong IT skills and knowledge of data protection and information governance standards.
Experience working in a multicultural urban environment demonstrating a commitment to inclusion and equality.
Additional Information:
Degree-level education and a relevant professional qualification in social work.
Registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g. Social Work England).
Enhanced DBS is required for this role.
