Role Overview: Tally Developer (TDL)
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Tally Developer (TDL) to join our growing team. This role demands a professional who understands Tally ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software and its customization language Tally Definition Language (TDL) to tailor Tally solutions to meet specific business requirements.
Tally software has long been a preferred accounting and business management solution across Indian companies and small-medium enterprises (SMEs). However off-the-shelf Tally packages do not always address every unique need of every business. This is where the Tally Developer plays a critical role: extending modifying and customizing Tally to perfectly fit the operational workflows and reporting demands of clients.
You will work closely with our business analysts and clients to understand their needs and convert those into effective efficient Tally customizations. Your expertise will help businesses leverage the full power of Tally ERP and enable smarter decision-making through customized reports and integrated systems.
Detailed Job Responsibilities
- TDL Coding & Customization:Write and maintain TDL scripts to customize Tally ERP 9 or Tally Prime functionalities. This includes creating new modules forms reports and vouchers tailored for specific business processes.
- Report & Invoice Development:Design and modify invoices billing formats and accounting reports as per client requirements. Ensure these customized reports are accurate clear and useful for business decision-making.
- XML Integration:Utilize XML interfaces to enable seamless communication between Tally and other business software such as inventory management systems billing software or custom in-house applications.
- Issue Identification & Resolution:Detect bugs errors or inefficiencies in existing TDL code and reports. Provide timely fixes and enhancements to ensure smooth functioning of Tally software for users.
- Documentation & Version Control:Maintain detailed records of all changes made to TDL scripts and report templates. Document customizations to aid knowledge sharing and future development efforts.
- Collaboration & Communication:Work collaboratively with the project team including business analysts project managers and clients. Participate in meetings to understand requirements provide progress updates and gather feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic Knowledge of Tally ERP 9 or Tally Prime:Fundamental understanding of Tally s accounting modules inventory management and statutory compliance features.
- Hands-on Experience in Tally Definition Language (TDL):Ability to write debug and maintain TDL scripts. Experience customizing vouchers reports and user interfaces using TDL.
- Knowledge of XML:Proficiency in working with XML data to facilitate integration between Tally and other software solutions.
- Understanding of Basic Accounting Principles:Awareness of concepts such as ledgers vouchers inventory valuation GST VAT and payroll. This helps in building meaningful business solutions aligned with financial regulations.
- Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to analyze issues in the software or data workflows and provide effective solutions quickly.
- Teamwork & Communication:Good interpersonal skills to collaborate efficiently with team members and clients.
