The Senior Associate RF Systems Research Engineer at Vorbeck will be responsible for the design development and optimization of innovative RF systems. Responsibilities include a focus on applied research incorporating graphene-based technologies across a wide variety of RF applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF telecommunications with hands-on antenna performance modeling and simulation experience using tools such as CST studio HFSS and/or FEKO.
Qualifications :
Education
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Telecommunications Physics or a related field required. A completed Ph.D. is an advantage.
Experience
5 years of hands-on experience in RF systems design modeling and optimization with a strong background in advanced RF telecommunications principles.
Proficiency in electromagnetic wave modeling antenna design and modulation techniques with a solid understanding of antenna array design for applications like GNSS SATCOM and electronic warfare (EW) systems.
Extensive experience using simulation tools such as CST Studio HFSS or FEKO to model and optimize antenna performance.
Experience working with signaling solutions particularly in the 3 MHz to 6 GHz frequency range.
Demonstrated ability to design develop and test RF components in complex real-world environments ensuring high performance and reliability.
Strong knowledge of industry trends technological advancements and regulatory standards in RF telecommunications.
Skills and Abilities
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and effectively document results.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with a track record of addressing complex RF system challenges and implementing innovative solutions.
Proven leadership skills
Excellent organizational and project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize tasks manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in conducting field tests troubleshooting and validating RF system performance in real-world conditions.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative fast-paced team.
Expertise in graphene applications design and printable electronics is a significant advantage.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements across commercial aerospace government and defense sectors.
Able to obtain or already possess a security clearance with the US DoD
Additional Information :
Job Type: Full-time
Classification: Exempt
Physical Setting/work location: In-Office
Pay Range: $125000 - $150000 based on experience.
Clearance Level: This position requires that the candidate be capable of receiving a US DoD Secret-level security clearance. Preference will be given to candidates with an active SCI-level Clearance.
