SALARY: up to $14.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY: The employee is responsible for ensuring the safety of facility guests by preventing and responding to emergencies that may occur at Kennedy Water Playground. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Employees are responsible for successfully completing all pre-season training.
• Employees are responsible for preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
• Employees are responsible for enforcing all park and aquatic policies rules and regulations.
• Employees are responsible for effective surveillance with proper scanning victim recognition recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.
• Employees are responsible for inspecting the facility/equipment and reporting any unsafe conditions or damaged equipment to the Aquatic Manager or Supervisor on duty.
• Employees are responsible for attending and participating in regular in-service training sessions.
• Employees are responsible for completing incident reports and other records.

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform miscellaneous tasks as requested by the Aquatics and Ice Manager or Aquatic Supervisor

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Requires interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Be able to learn on the job

CERTIFICATES LICENSE REGISTRATION: American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED/Oxygen/Bloodborne Pathogens

EQUIPMENT: Lifeguard rescue tube Ambu Bag Oxygen Tank First-Aid Kit Backboard Resuscitation Mask

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level at Kennedy Water Playground may be moderate to loud at times. Work in all weather conditions.
