Job Description
Security System Specialist
Location: Anaheim CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We seek an experienced Security System Specialist II to support the installation startup commissioning and servicing of advanced building security and special systems. This hands-on technical role requires strong troubleshooting abilities field experience and familiarity with industry-standard platforms such as Lenel and Genetec.
You will play a critical role in delivering reliable code-compliant solutions to commercial and industrial clients while working closely with installation and service teams in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
Responsibilities

Perform system startup and commissioning including point-to-point checkout and alarm/device verification

Troubleshoot installation configuration and service-related issues

Provide technical support to installation teams and site contractors

Ensure proper backups of all software and system configurations

Maintain and service existing systems to ensure compliance and operational integrity

Assist in the creation of as-built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals

Help transition projects from operations to service

Support the sales team during estimating and demonstration phases as needed

Participate in on-call emergency response rotations
-
Accurately complete work orders service reports and time entries

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience installing and servicing security systems
-
Proficiency with Lenel and Genetec platforms
-
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
-
Skilled in using electronic testing tools such as volt meters and oscilloscopes
-
Ability to read and interpret electronic/electrical schematics
-
Understanding of AC power systems breakers and multi-phase configurations
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
-
Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field
-
Certifications in Lenel Genetec or Avigilon
-
Over 5 years of experience with Lenel or Genetec systems
Physical Requirements
-
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
-
Stand walk and climb stairs/ladders on construction sites
-
Kneel stoop and crawl in confined spaces
-
Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record per company policy
Compensation
- $45.00 $52.00 per hour depending on experience and certifications
