Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision
- Perform duties as the primary technical service writer and adviser for vehicles heavy trucks and heavy equipment belonging to SCDC and other city county and state agencies.
- Provide evaluations and assessments for required repair and maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform test operation to ensure work was performed properly.
- Supervises the vehicle maintenance work order and parts inventory system to ensure accountability and compliance with agency policies.
- Supervises inmate staff assigned to the parts room and provides training while ensuring the security of the vehicle maintenance facility.
- Assists the shop supervisor with the coordination and assignment of repair and maintenance tasks.
- Assist with agencys vehicle maintenance shop certification.

State of South CarolinaMinimum Requirements:
Work experience involving the independent performance of job duties directly related to the area of employment.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).- A high school diploma and two (2) years work experience in service repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Experience in the use of electronic diagnostic equipment.
