Systems Engineer I
The Department of Administrations (Admin) Office of Technology & Information Services (OTIS) is seeking a Systems Engineer I to join the team. OTISoversees the states federated model for implementing enhancing and protecting information technology (IT) resources and the utilization of IT shared services across agencies. In this role you will provide support for the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment. Work to ensure our cloud identities are secured and that we are following vendor best practices when implementing new modules. Establish documentation and procedures that will be used by both tier 1 and tier 2 support staff to support the various M365 modules.

Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer I:
  • Provide escalated support for Teams SharePoint OneDrive and other M365 products. Serve as a senior product engineer and coordinate engineering efforts between vendors Microsoft and other divisions within Admin.
  • Coordinate solutions to incidents and requests with the Office 365 platform. Coordinate new service offerings and support the refinement of existing 365 services that are part of the Admin services.
  • Assist with the user access management including exchange resource accounts provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts and distribution list management.
  • Monitor the service desk queue for any service requests and ensure that service requests are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Exchange administrators and the Active Directory administrators to automate any repetitive functions and secure any automation scripts.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in information technology computer science or a related field and at least three (3) years of experience in areas of system administration network administration and/or IT administration. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • CJIS certification is required to be up to date and maintained.
Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of fundamental computing and networking methodologies and technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and technical skills.
  • Working knowledge of management of cloud hosted solutions including Office 365 and Azure AAD.
  • Candidate must possess working knowledge of SharePoint OneDrive Teams and Exchange as well as have a strong understanding of the Power Platform.
  • Candidate must be able to create and debug automation scripts in various languages including basic batch scripts powershell python Power Bl Power Query and TSQL.
  • Able to be in the office as needed during ANY emergency or weather related event.
